My Mood Board
The NEA brief that I have chosen is Music Videos and Online which consists of producing a three minute music video for a fictional band/artist that are signed to Warner Music Group and two pages of a working website for the band/artist. At minimum the brief also requires me to include a statement of intent to summarise my music video and how the content I have produced is age appropriate to a socially conscious 16-25 middle to upmarket demographic. Throughout my video it is important that I also use a range of camera shots, angles and movements, editing, use of mise-en-scene, characters with different genders, races and ethnicities and a clear sense of branding across both elements of the cross-media products. The NEA brief further requires a web page to promote the band/artist, at minimum it employs that the page must include original audio or audio visual content with at least one piece created solely for the artist website. Overall, the website must include two original images, appropriate conventions for the websites design such as original titles/ logos, menu bars. Working links from the websites homepage to other pages and a range of appropriate media language techniques such as what type of typography, images and fonts are going to be included.
TASK 3 -
In this task I will be exploring different types of images, fonts and colours to use in my Music Video and Online Brief. I will be looking at different connotations and how these affect the way my target audience might view my product. By creating this mood board I will also be exploring creative ways of how to present my work.
TASK 5 -
In my Music video I hope to use the setting of Hadleigh Castle during sunrise to represent a postmodern approach to a new beginning and new life for Black People in a 'white society'. The old deserted Castle further reflects the collapse of a white ruling society where white people are in power, this further links in with Gilroy's post colonialism theory. I also hope to use the indoor setting of a studio using a white backdrop and lights and a hand held green screen where people can be seen holding the lyrics to the song. The black and white background will contrasts against the first setting but also against the hand held sign each individual will hold. Intersexuality can be argued to be found in this as it links with Micheal Jacksons "Black or White" music video. I'd also like to use a range of high angled and low angled shots to represent the imbalance of power between both Races which can further be demonstrated by the mise-en-scene of costume as 'Chay' a dancer in the music video who is of black heritage is wearing all black to symbolise negative way black people are represented politically and in society. Therefore, Cody a white female dancer will be wearing black trousers and a white top to symbolise the positive way white people are represented In society. Furthermore, this outfit links closely to business wear representing the power white people hold over the ruling classes and equality in society.
